The story of Korzen Hair is one characterized by faith, resilience, and a strong dedication to fulfilling a crucial need in the beauty industry. After losing a stable corporate position in early 2020, I felt a powerful urge to embark on a new path. Remembering advice from a previous employer to focus on my strengths, I chose to utilize my expertise as a hairstylist. My daughter and I envisioned creating a natural hair care line, firmly believing that true beauty starts with healthy hair. This vision led to the creation of Korzen Hair, a name inspired by the Polish word “Root,” reflecting our motto: “The Root to Healthy Hair.”

Our community faces significant challenges, such as traction alopecia, a lack of appreciation for textured hair, and feelings of marginalization among women with tightly coiled hair. Aware of these issues, we introduced Korzen Hair in the fall of 2020. Despite personal challenges, including my son’s autism diagnosis in March 2021, we successfully launched our first products in the Milk & Manuka Honey collection by fall 2021, with another product following in Spring 2022. However, our journey was not without difficulties. Shortly after the product launch, my daughter, who was also my co-founder, faced severe mental health challenges that required her to step back from the business.

Even with these setbacks, I felt a deep commitment to persevere. Taking on the role of CEO and Founder of Korzen Hair, I began a rebranding process to expand our appeal while remaining true to our original vision. Our mission continues to focus on promoting health and beauty for all hair types, especially within the textured hair community. The story of Korzen Hair is far from finished, and I am dedicated to moving forward, fueled by the belief that everyone deserves to feel confident and beautiful in their natural hair.
